My name is Sharon Philip. I'm Cake Artist at Sweet Flour and this is my story.
 
As long as I can remember I am crazy about cooking and baking. After I quitted my job as a lawyer, I moved to NYC and went to culinary school at the French Culinary Institute. I learned all the basic techniques of baking cakes and all sorts of French pastries. I loved it! It felt like I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. So I continued my culinary education by doing internships at several cakeshops in NYC. I worked at Sugar Flower Cakeshop and Baked Ideas. I learned how to decorate cakes in different forms and styles and more specific I learned how to 
make sugar flowers. It all came together; my passion for baking and being creative, all at the same time.  

Back in The Netherlands, in my hometown Rotterdam, I started my own cakeshop: SWEET FLOUR, specialized in custom made cakes, decorated with unique edible Sweet Flower Art (sugar flowers). Every time when I'm baking and/or decorating a cake, or when I see someone become really happy while eating my cake, I feel thrilled and excited, I feel absolute happiness! Sometimes it feels like a dream: it all started in New York City; The City of Dreams and it became my dream!
